The Cemetery Trustees, Ruth Hammen, Fred Shaw and Brenda Boswak met on March 2, 2026 @ 9:00 a.m. at the Historical Society building. 

OLD BUSINESS Garry Kalajian, Ararat Forge, met with us to present his final design and cost estimate for Kaime Cemetery gatesThe Cemetery Trustees reviewed and approved of his design and cost estimate. Garry will begin work on the gates within the next month. Garry inspected some iron gate remnants from Foster Cemetery. His assessment is that it can be repaired. We will do more research on how to incorporate this original piece of ironwork into what is currently at the cemetery.

 Joseph Beachy Extol Tree Care, LLC, submitted a written estimate for dead tree removal in all the town owned cemeteries, as requested by the Board of Selectman, in preparation for their proposed warrant article for town meeting 2026, requesting $35,000 be raised toward this project. 

NEW BUSINESS Curtis Hermann, Sons of the American Revolution group joined our meeting to educate us on the group’s mission, information resources, and events, related to recognizing and honoring New Hampshire Revolutionary War veterans and Patriots. We compared our list of Revolutionary War veterans buried in Chichester with their database and discussed a date for them to provide a ‘Patriot Grave Marking Ceremony’ in 2027 as part of Chichester’s 300th Celebration. 

We discussed purchasing special 250th flags for placement at the veterans’ gravesites this season and special flag holders for Revolutionary War veterans. Brenda will research prices and designs. 

Brenda will attend the Selectmen Department Heads meeting tomorrow night. T
