November 3, 2025 @ 9:00 the Cemetery Trustees met at the Historical Society building. Ruth Hammen, Fred Shaw and Brenda Boswak were in attendance.
OLD BUSINESS
Ruthie received a check from Martha Dodge-Wilkerson, made out to the Town of Chichester, in the amount of $2,300, to be used for the brush cleanup project at Fellows-Webster Cemetery. Ruthie submitted the check to the Town Treasurer to be deposited in the Cemetery General Expense account. Tim Mayville has completed the brush removal portion of the project. The Cemetery Trustees agreed to ask Tim Mayville to submit an estimate to brush hog Fellows-Webster Cemetery.
NEW BUSINESS
The Cemetery Trustees revised the ‘Rules & Regulations’ to include a gravestone size restriction of 3’x3’ with a concrete foundation. Fred will make the revisions in the database documents. Brenda will print updated signs for the cemetery notice boards.
Ruthie suggested nominating Martha Dodge-Wilkerson to be honored with the 2026 town report dedication. Fred and Brenda agreed with her suggestion. Ruth will prepare a short bio on Martha and submit to the Selectmen.
Fred and Ruth have completed the project of identifying town cemeteries and locations on the town tax maps. Fred has compiled this information and will submit it to the Town Administrator.
Brenda will contact Joseph Beachy, Extol Tree Care, and Brian Magoon, Magoon Tree Service, for estimates for tree removal for the 2026 season.
The Cemetery trustees have prepared our budget request for presentation to the Selectmen and Budget Committee. We do not have a date for that meeting.
Brenda will contact Don Cotnoir, NH Monuments to talk about cornerstone prices and turnaround time of cornerstone placement, for next season.
One of the Pineground Cemetery front iron gates and granite post was damaged by Perry Bros. Monument Company’s truck while passing through the double gates. They repaired the damage at no cost to the town of Chichester.
Diane Loso is researching another possible military veteran, Thomas Hook, to be added to our list of Chichester veterans.
Brenda has begun the promotion of Wreaths Across America Day 2025 event.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Brenda Boswak, Cemetery Trustee, Secretary
